Your files never leave your browser

Every tool on HogPDF — the PDF editor, converters, merge, split and compress — works directly in your browser. When you open a file, it stays on your device while it's edited or converted. It is never uploaded to HogPDF's servers, never stored in a database, and never seen by HogPDF.

Closing the tab or refreshing the page discards the file completely. There is nothing for HogPDF to delete on request, because nothing was ever sent to HogPDF in the first place.

Payments

Previewing a result is free. Downloading a finished file costs a flat Ksh 10 (Ksh 5 with an account), paid by card or M-Pesa through Paystack. HogPDF never sees or stores your card number, M-Pesa PIN, or other payment credentials — that's handled directly between you and Paystack.

HogPDF receives a payment reference, amount and status from Paystack to confirm your download unlocked. That transaction record is retained for accounting and dispute purposes; it does not include the file you were converting.

Accounts

You can open and try every tool without an account. When you sign up, HogPDF collects your name, your email address and the name of your organisation if you give one. HogPDF does not store passwords. HogPDF also keeps a record of each sign-up and sign-in with its date and method (a Google sign-in or an emailed code), and the source label described under Analytics, so it can see how people sign in. Signing in sets a cookie that keeps you signed in, and a second one that only tells the page which buttons to show.

For each document you download with prepaid credit HogPDF records the tool, the time, a rough size (under 1 MB, 1 to 5 MB, or 5 to 25 MB) and the group tag you chose for it, if any. HogPDF never records file names or anything from the file. Organisation admins can see their organisation's records, and members of a group can see records tagged with that group.

Signing in

By default, sign-in uses a one-time code sent to your email by Resend, the service HogPDF uses to deliver email. Resend receives your email address and the message with the code.

If you choose Continue with Google, Google signs you in. No Google sign-in code is loaded until you choose that button. From Google HogPDF keeps only your Google user id, your email address and your name. HogPDF does not keep your profile picture or Google tokens. Google never receives your files.

Analytics

HogPDF collects basic, aggregated traffic data — which pages are visited and roughly how many people use each tool, with Vercel Analytics. It's anonymised, cookie-free, and never tied to you individually. Page fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when a page opens. The cookie notice lists every cookie and browser note HogPDF uses.

When you arrive from a link we shared, or from another site, HogPDF notes a short label such as "tiktok" or "google" for that browser tab only. If you then pay, sign up or top up, the label is stored with that record, so HogPDF can see which channels bring people. Only the label is kept: never the address, the page you came from, or anything that identifies you.

Third parties

HogPDF shares data with Paystack, for payment processing, and Resend, for emailing sign-in codes. If you choose Continue with Google, Google is also involved in that sign-in. None of them ever receives your files.

Your rights

Under Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019 you can ask what personal data HogPDF holds about you, ask HogPDF to correct or delete it, and object to how it uses it. Write to the address below and HogPDF will reply. You can also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner. Use of the service is also covered by the terms of service.
