Good to know
- Cell values are copied as they are stored. Number formats such as currency, percentages and dates, along with colours, formulas, charts and images, aren't carried over.
- Columns get equal widths, so very wide sheets may need adjusting in Word.
- Empty sheets are included with a note that they're empty.
- Files up to 25 MB are supported.
Excel to Word FAQ
- How do I convert an Excel file to Word?
- Upload your spreadsheet, click Convert to Word and download the .docx. Each sheet becomes a heading with a table underneath.
- Does it convert all sheets or just the first?
- All of them. Each sheet appears in order with its name as the heading.
- Will formatting like colours and number formats be kept?
- No. The data is copied across as values, so number formats, colours, formulas and charts aren't carried over. The header row is styled in bold with a light fill.
- Can I convert a CSV file?
- Yes. A CSV file works the same way and produces a single table.
- Is my spreadsheet uploaded anywhere?
- No. The conversion runs in your browser, so the file stays on your device.
- Do I need an account?
- You don't need an account. Preview the result free, then a download costs Ksh 10, or Ksh 5 with an account.
